# Cheaper alternative to Pepperi

Pepperi publishes no price. Its own site has no pricing page, so every figure in circulation comes from a software directory or from a rival selling against it. The shape of the bill is clear enough - a modular subscription, sales rep seats charged on top, and an implementation project quoted separately - but its size is nowhere public. Wholesale Handler is a flat monthly fee with no seats, no setup charge and no commission, which makes it much cheaper for taking orders and the wrong tool for running a field sales force.

## Pepperi publishes no price

The pepperi.com navigation runs Solutions, Platform, Industries, Customers, Company and Resources, with no Pricing entry in the menu or the footer. The `/pricing/` URL returns a 404. Every route to a number ends at the "Let's Talk" form.

The company was acquired by Advantive in July 2024. Advantive's announcement describes Pepperi as serving over 1,000 medium and large brands and wholesale distributors in more than 65 countries, naming Kimberly-Clark, Heineken and Hallmark. A customer list of that shape is itself a pricing signal.

## Every published figure is third-party

| Source | Reported figure |
| --- | --- |
| Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice | $500 per feature, per month |
| G2 | Entry-level pricing listed as "Custom", with reviewer-perceived cost in the top band |
| SoftwareSuggest | $48 per user per month, on a profile Pepperi has not claimed |
| WizCommerce and SimplyDepo | $500 a month for a Pro plan, $1,500 for Corporate, top tier by quote |

Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice are all Gartner properties carrying the same number, so that is one source repeated rather than three sources agreeing.

"Per feature, per month" is the closest wording to Pepperi's own that appears anywhere, and it is not a seat rate. It says the subscription is modular, so the figure depends on which of B2B eCommerce, rep order taking, route accounting and retail execution the quote includes.

WizCommerce and SimplyDepo both sell competing products, which is worth holding in mind in both directions - they have a reason to quote the top of every range, and they also have reason to know what a lost deal was priced at.

## Seats and implementation sit outside the subscription

Every source agrees the bill rises with each sales rep who gets an account, and none of them has a per-seat rate from Pepperi. The $48 to $99-plus per user per month figures in circulation are a directory's own estimate and a review site's estimate, neither traceable back to a quote.

Implementation is the larger unknown, and no neutral source publishes a figure at all. Competitor pages put it in five figures and upward, covering data migration, ERP integration and workflow configuration before the subscription starts. Those are the only numbers in circulation, and they come from parties who benefit from the number being large.

So a wholesaler asking what Pepperi will cost them cannot answer it from public sources. That is normal for the category rather than particular to Pepperi, and [why wholesale software is so expensive](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/why-is-wholesale-software-so-expensive) covers where the money goes.

## A flat fee prices the two things a quote hides

Wholesale Handler is a flat price a month, set natively in six currencies, with no per-user charge, no percentage of what is sold, no per-order fee and no tier that holds a feature back. Up to 3 customers it is free, and no card is required to start.

The comparison that matters is not month one. It is year one with the setup fee amortised and a seat count that grows every time someone new needs access. [Flat-fee wholesale ordering software](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/flat-fee-wholesale-ordering-software) covers what each plan is bounded by, since a price with no seats and no per-order fee has to be bounded by something.

## Pepperi does things Wholesale Handler does not

Pepperi is a field sales platform before it is an ordering portal. Rep mobile order taking with offline sync, route accounting and direct store delivery, retail execution and mobile CRM are all in scope, wired into an existing ERP. An operation running vans, taking orders inside a customer's store, or needing reps to work without signal is buying something Wholesale Handler does not attempt, and a large part of the implementation fee is what it costs to connect all that to the back office.

Wholesale Handler has no ERP connectors at all. [Wholesale ordering software without ERP integration](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/wholesale-ordering-software-without-erp-integration) covers what a standalone portal does in place of them.

Switching makes sense in one shape of business - where the requirement is customers placing their own orders against their own prices, on their own delivery days, and the field sales machinery is paid for and unused.

## What Wholesale Handler cannot do

- **One sign-in per account.** A colleague cannot yet have their own sign-in, which is also why there is no per-user charge to compare against. Seats are built in the schema and not yet in the product.
- **No rep app and no offline ordering.** It runs in a browser, so an order needs a connection.
- **No route accounting, direct store delivery or retail execution.**
- **No ERP or accounting integrations.** Invoice line items leave as a CSV for a chosen period, with the columns named by the merchant.
- **Volume caps.** 500 products and 50 customers, as bounds on the plan rather than steps in a price ladder. A larger operation is handled by asking rather than by moving up a tier.
- **Not always the lowest sticker price.** Several order-taking tools start below it. What it removes is the part of the bill that cannot be predicted.

## Getting a comparable number out of a demo

1. Which modules are inside the quoted subscription, and what does each one cost alone?
2. What does a seat cost, and which roles need one - reps only, or back office and warehouse as well?
3. What is the implementation fee, what is in scope for it, and who does the work?
4. What is the contract term, and what happens to the price at renewal?
5. What changes on the invoice when a customer, a product or a sales rep is added?

## Q&A

**Q: Does Pepperi offer a free trial?**
A: Sources disagree. Two directory listings say no free trial and no free version, a third from the same owner says a trial is available, and G2 lists no subscription-free trial. The consistent picture is that evaluation happens through a sales demo rather than a self-serve sign-up.

**Q: Does Pepperi charge a percentage of sales or a fee per order?**
A: No per-transaction fee is reported by any source, and the subscription is described as including an annual transaction pool. The cost sits in the subscription, the modules, the seats and the implementation instead.

**Q: How long does a Pepperi implementation take?**
A: G2 reviewers report around three months to implement, and put the return on investment at around twenty-one months. That timeline is part of the cost, because the subscription is usually running while the configuration work happens.

**Q: Does Wholesale Handler charge a setup or onboarding fee?**
A: No. The flat monthly fee is the whole bill. An existing customer book and product catalogue are pasted or dropped in from a spreadsheet, with problem rows flagged and fixed in place before anything is written, and anything already in the book flagged rather than added a second time.

**Q: Can the data be taken elsewhere afterwards?**
A: Yes. Invoice line items export as a CSV that any accounting package can read, over a named period or a custom date range, with the merchant choosing which columns are included and what they are called.
