# NuORDER pricing - subscription, setup fee and transaction fees

NuORDER publishes no subscription price. Directory listings put the floor at $7,000 a year, NuORDER's own promotional pages confirm an implementation fee starting at $7,500, and payments taken inside the platform cost 2.9% plus $0.30 per card transaction or 0.50% of every transaction if a brand connects its own processor. It is a Lightspeed property selling to apparel, footwear and accessories brands, so a food producer comparing it against a flat monthly fee is looking at software built for a different trade.

## NuORDER publishes no subscription price

The vendor's own pages say only that "NuORDER offers a number of different paid subscription packages" and route every enquiry to a sales form. G2's listing records that NuORDER has not provided pricing information.

The one figure in circulation is $7,000 a year, shown as the starting price on Capterra and Software Advice. Those two directories and GetApp run on the same Gartner backend, so this is one number repeated in three places rather than three sources agreeing. It is a floor for a single-user entry plan, and licensing is per seat, so a brand adding sales reps and merchandisers pays above it. [Why is wholesale software so expensive](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/why-is-wholesale-software-so-expensive) covers what quote-only pricing does to a small buyer's shortlist.

There is a free tier, and it is not a trial. It is restricted to brands selling into NuORDER's exclusive retail network - Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, The Bay, Bloomingdale's, Macy's and David Jones - and it allows pre-orders only, manual imports and exports, and restricted buyer access.

## The implementation fee starts at $7,500

This is the one cost NuORDER states in public, because it appears in the offers that waive it. Its upgrade pages advertise waiving "our standard implementation fee ($7,500+ value)", and a separate offer waives it for new customers integrating with NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Apparel Magic, RLM, Shopify or QuickBooks. The waiver assumes one of those systems is already running, which is itself a statement about who the platform is sold to.

At $109 a month, $7,500 is sixty-eight months of Wholesale Handler before the comparison reaches either product's actual subscription.

## Two separate transaction fees sit on top of the subscription

NuORDER documents two payment routes, and they are charged differently.

- **Lightspeed Payments**, where NuORDER handles processing: 2.9% plus $0.30 per credit card transaction in the US and Canada, 0.80% for ACH. The help desk works it through - a $1,000 order deposits $970.70. Refunds are not charged the $0.30.
- **Bring Your Own Processor**, where a brand connects a processor it already uses: 0.50% per transaction to NuORDER, billed quarterly, plus whatever that processor charges.

The 2.9% plus $0.30 is card processing at the standard published online rate, so it is the cost of taking a card rather than a cut the software invented. The 0.50% is the software's own percentage of order value, and it is the figure to hold against a flat monthly fee. [BlueCart pricing](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/bluecart-pricing) covers the other wholesale platform whose bill moves with order volume.

| Monthly order value | Card fees at 2.9% + $0.30 | NuORDER's 0.50% cut |
| --- | --- | --- |
| $10,000 over 100 orders | $320 | $50 |
| $20,000 over 200 orders | $640 | $100 |
| $50,000 over 500 orders | $1,600 | $250 |

At $20,000 a month the 0.50% alone runs to $1,200 a year, which is close to a full year of Wholesale Handler's $1,308, and it is charged on top of a subscription starting five times higher.

Scale puts the percentage in proportion. Lightspeed's acquisition filing records that NuORDER saw more than $11.5 billion in orders pass through the platform in the twelve months to 31 March 2021, on revenue over $20 million - about 0.17% of everything transacted. The annual contract is the business model, not the cut of each order.

## A flat 30 cents is priced for a seasonal buy, not a Tuesday delivery

The per-transaction component is where the two trades separate. On a $15,000 seasonal apparel buy, $0.30 is 0.002% of the order. On a $150 bread or produce delivery it is 0.2%, a hundred times the proportion, and a producer delivering three times a week to forty accounts is placing several hundred of those a month rather than two large buys a year.

## NuORDER is built for apparel, footwear and accessories

Its customer logos are footwear brands, outdoor labels and fashion houses. Food, grocery and fresh produce appear nowhere on its site, and its feature set follows the trade it serves: size curves, digital linesheets, virtual showrooms, pre-book and available-to-sell stock visibility, and department-store buying workflows. Capterra positions it at branded manufacturers with large wholesale channels selling into department and big-box retail.

A small food producer is outside that market, and reaches NuORDER through B2B wholesale listicles that rank it beside tools built for a bakery with fifteen cafe accounts.

## What Wholesale Handler charges, and what it does not do

A flat monthly price, no per-user charge, no per-order fee and no commission on order value. It is free up to 3 customers with every feature on it, and there is a full working demo, with no signup and no card. [Flat-fee wholesale ordering software](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/flat-fee-wholesale-ordering-software) sets out how a single monthly figure behaves as order volume grows.

There is no transaction fee because Wholesale Handler does not process payments at all. Invoices are generated from orders and emailed, customers declare payments against them, and the merchant confirms or disputes each one, with a full payment history on every invoice. [How to know which wholesale customers haven't paid you](https://wholesalehandler.com/articles/how-to-know-which-wholesale-customers-havent-paid-you) covers that side of it. A producer taking cards through their own processor still pays that processor's rate. What is absent is the software's percentage.

It also does none of what NuORDER does for a fashion brand. There are no virtual showrooms, no digital linesheets, no size curves, no EDI or ERP integration and no pre-book season workflow. The export path is a CSV shaped for accounting software.

## Q&A

**Q: Does NuORDER charge a commission on wholesale orders**
A: No. The business model is an annual subscription. The only percentage of order value NuORDER takes for itself is a 0.50% per transaction fee, billed quarterly, which applies when a brand connects its own payment processor instead of using Lightspeed Payments.

**Q: What is the cheapest way onto NuORDER**
A: There is a free tier, but it is limited to brands selling into NuORDER's exclusive retail network of department stores, and it allows pre-orders and manual data imports only. Paid subscriptions are quote-only, with directory listings showing $7,000 a year as the starting figure.

**Q: Is the NuORDER implementation fee avoidable**
A: NuORDER has run offers waiving it for new customers who integrate with NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Apparel Magic, RLM, Shopify or QuickBooks. The waiver assumes one of those systems is already in place, so it is aimed at brands that already run an ERP.

**Q: Can a food producer use NuORDER**
A: Nothing blocks it, but NuORDER names no food, grocery or fresh produce customers anywhere on its site, and its product is built around seasonal apparel buying: size curves, digital linesheets, virtual showrooms and pre-book ordering.

**Q: Does Wholesale Handler charge per order**
A: No. It is a flat monthly fee, with no per-user charge, no per-order fee and no commission on order value. It does not process card payments, so it takes no percentage of the money.
