How delivery settings work on Wholesale Handler

Delivery settings control which dates your customers can order for. They live on your Settings page and apply to every customer. Rules that vary by customer - delivery days, cutoffs, maximum lead time, minimum spend - live on an order profile instead.

Blocking dates you are closed

Holidays block delivery on a date without stopping ordering. Create one in Settings with a start date, an optional end date for a shutdown week, and a description your customers see against the blocked date.

Customers can still place orders while you are closed. They just cannot pick a closed date for delivery.

Choosing between dates and weeks

Delivery precision is either Specific dates or Delivery weeks. Use Specific dates when a customer expects delivery on a named day - a bakery's cafes need Tuesday's bread on Tuesday. Use Delivery weeks when the commitment is a week rather than a day, the way a Christmas tree farm's garden centres take a delivery sometime that week.

Under Delivery weeks a customer picks a week beginning Monday rather than a day, and lead time is measured to that Monday. It applies to every customer at once.

Setting how long an order stays updateable

Order lock window decides when a placed order stops being updateable by the customer. Until cutoff keeps it open until the delivery date closes. Immediately locks it on placement. Six fixed windows sit between them, from 15 minutes to 24 hours after placement.

A closed date always says why

Every closed date carries one of four reasons - it is not one of your delivery days, it falls on a holiday, its cutoff has passed, or it is beyond the maximum lead time.

Cutoff message adds your own line on top. Use it to tell customers what to do when they need a last-minute change.

Cutoffs resolve in your timezone, not the customer's

Every cutoff is calculated in the timezone set in Settings. Change your timezone and every cutoff moves with it.

What delivery settings cannot do

  • Holidays are global. One calendar applies to every order profile, so you cannot close a date for one group of customers only.
  • Changes take effect immediately. You cannot schedule a cutoff change or a dropped delivery day for a future date, or announce one in advance.
  • There are no country holiday packs. Each closure is added by hand.
